Decorative petrykivka artwork is a joy to look at and have in your home!
You will learn how to create your own petrykivka-painted wood picture frame under the guidance of our talented Ukrainian master artist Svitlana Denisova.
Petrykivka decorative painting, as described on the UNESCO List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, is an ornamental folk art rich in symbolism.
WHAT TO EXPECT:
- lots of fun learning a unique, traditional Ukrainian painting technique while getting to know another culture;
- shared laughter with both old and new friends;
- some light refreshments and yummy pastries
No experience is necessary, as you will be provided with all the tools and materials you’ll need.
LOCATION:
The workshop will be held at the Creekside Community Recreation Centre in meeting room 1. The address is 1 Athletes Way, Vancouver.
CAUSE:
Ukraine Harmony Foundation is a Vancouver-based nonprofit organization. All proceeds from our fundraisers in March would be used to support our project “Veteranka” which was created to support the Ukrainian Women’s Veterans Movement.
ADDITIONAL DETAILS:
- The workshop is designed for all skill levels and everyone is welcome to join!
- Workshop purchases are non-refundable. However, if you find you can’t make it, please by all means give your spot to a friend!
